Yaron Samid is an inventor, three-time entrepreneur, CEO, board director and angel investor with exits totaling half a billion dollars. Yaron’s most recent company, BillGuard, pioneered the use of crowdsourcing to save consumers millions of dollars in wrongful charges and over-spending. BillGuard was one of the fastest growing personal finance apps in history before being acquired by Prosper Marketplace in October 2015. BillGuard’s investors included BVP, Vinod Khosla, Peter Thiel and Eric Schmidt. Prior to BillGuard, Yaron co-founded p2p content delivery network Pando Networks (Acquired by Microsoft) and DeskSite, and led product management and marketing teams at Zend, BackWeb and Register.com.
Yaron has served as board director at CloudLock (Acquired by Cisco) and Pond5, and as a special advisor to the White House on private sector innovation. An active startup community leader, Yaron founded and runs TechAviv, the 3,000 member global Israeli startup founders club, advises multiple US and Israeli startups and lectures on entrepreneurship at Stanford, Harvard and Columbia business schools.
